Live comfortably in the former Noordsingel prison, overlooking a green oasis
Historic prison walls, a leafy courtyard garden and Rotterdam’s city centre less than ten minutes away by bike. This distinctive one-bedroom home spans two floors, combining a place full of history with modern comfort. It has its own entrance through a private front garden and a spacious balcony overlooking the greenery.
The prison bars, thick walls and barbed wire are reminders of the building’s prison past. Once spartan, it now offers a comfortable home with a modern open-plan kitchen, underfloor heating and a generous bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.

A green oasis within the old prison walls
The former prison courtyard has also been given a new look. Today, it is a large, publicly accessible city garden. A tucked-away green oasis where the bustle of Rotterdam and the nearby shopping street feels a world away.
Your living room and balcony overlook this garden. Here, you live surrounded by greenery and history, with city life close at hand.

Inside and out
A small private front garden sits outside your front door, with room for your bicycle or a bench where you can read among the greenery.
Downstairs, you’ll find the hallway, a separate toilet and the generous bedroom. The ensuite bathroom opens directly off the bedroom and has a walk-in shower, a washbasin with a mirror and a heated towel rail.
Upstairs, you live and cook overlooking the courtyard garden. Large sliding glass doors open onto the spacious balcony: a lovely spot for your first coffee of the day or to unwind after a busy day with a glass of wine and a sharing platter.
The open-plan kitchen has a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, induction hob and extractor hood. Underfloor heating keeps the home comfortable.

The Oude Noorden and city centre close by
The Oude Noorden neighbourhood has cafés, restaurants and shops within walking distance. For everyday groceries, head to Eudokiaplein or Zwart Janstraat.
Rotterdam’s city centre is approximately two kilometres away, less than ten minutes by bike. Rotterdam Central Station is around a five-minute bike ride away. City life is close, yet you come home to greenery.
