Voorburg is one of the oldest places in the Netherlands. The oldest mention of the name Voorburg is found on the property lists of a Utrecht church between 777 and 866. The place is listed as 'Foreburg'. Despite much of its rural surroundings having disappeared, Voorburg has always managed to retain its identity. With the size of a city, but with the quirky character of its village, every Voorburger feels connected to the city. Voorburg has a healthy living environment with beautiful parks and monumental buildings.
